Project: Assorted Ecological (terrestrial) Assessments for components of EIA’s, e.g. The Ecological Assessment for the proposed Leadwood Wildlife Estate.  

Location: Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa.

Task & implementation: Biovista conducted an ecological assessment for this proposed wildlife estate. The sensitive areas (no-go areas for development) were identified along with the expected social and ecological impacts of the proposed development. Species lists were compiled of observed and expected species with any Red Data species being highlighted. The mitigation and enhancement measures were provided to address the identified impacts. In addition to the normal ecological assessment a document on green building was compiled, to help guide the developer on how to build in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. This encompassed all aspects of the infrastructure, the appliances and the gardens
